ASH Group Awarded CMS Competence Management System Certification
The ASH Group are delighted to announce our certification to the Competence Management System, accredited with Lloyd’s Register.
The certificate award is recognition for the Management System in place at each of the operational sites and provides evidence that the ASH Group is competent to operate waste management sites, a key requirement of the Environmental Permits issued by the regulators.
During the two-stage audit undertaken by UKAS-accredited auditors, ASH was required to demonstrate that it has identified and safeguarded against environmental risks, met its legislative requirements, that there are robust internal audits carried out, and that the management and site operatives were aware of the requirements of the Environmental Permits issued for each site, including emergency procedures and limits of activities.
During 2019 and for the second year running, the ASH Group maintained its Band A status for its Environmental Permits. This was achieved by demonstrating compliance with the Environmental Permits issued by the Environment Agency and Natural Resources Wales during several planned and unannounced inspections. The ASH Group also maintained its ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certification during the latter parts of 2019.
